A woman with shoulder-length brown hair sitting on a wooden chair in a room with a potted plant beside her. She is wearing a light denim shirt and dark jeans, with her feet touching the wooden floor. There are brown slip-on shoes and a pair of glasses on the floor nearby. The room has a light-colored wall, a beige rug, and a window casting natural light.

kassia

creative director of her very own five ring circus

Kassia Binkowski, MPH, is creative director and writer working at the intersection of storytelling and social impact. She loves the smell of dogwoods, the weight of pottery, and the color yellow. The middle of six children, she’s spent a lifetime listening and instigating, in equal measure.

Both skills continue to serve her well.

Nestled against the foothills of the Rocky Mountains Kassia and her husband are raising three kids on mountains and rivers while doing their very best to instill a deep reverence for wild places. Working from the top floor of a very old home filled with the three aforementioned very loud kids, Kassia has built a creative practice telling intimate human stories about complex international issues. Chief among her current curiosities is how to leverage creativity for climate action. Over the course of her career she has supported communications at international climate organizations, national nonprofits building systems for sustainable environmental change, and municipal programs driving local climate innovation.

Today, Kassia is the founder of One K. Her background in global health is the foundation upon which she approaches any creative production with deep empathy. Balancing an eye for detail and an penchant for pragmatism, she leads teams of designers, filmmakers, and photographers to elevate the presence and activate the audiences of high impact organizations. They work across mediums to craft brands, websites, films, podcasts, and campaigns, each with a common goal of connecting ordinary humans to the most extraordinary social and environmental crises.

Kassia holds a BA in Environmental Studies and Integrative Physiology from the University of Colorado Boulder, and a Master of Public Health from the University of Washington Seattle.
